How To Control A Bed Bug Population

Bed-Bug-Population

We can say the problem with bedbugs is as a result of increased international travel, lack of awareness of both the historical and biological link humans have with bed bugs and the way people wholly believe in pesticides. Being nest parasites, they reside in the bedroom or you can call it the human nest. Over the years, bed bugs become resistant to many chemical pesticides. Today different ways on how to control a bed bug population have been invented.

The pest management relies on a combination of common-sense practice called the \integrated pest management (IPM) that gives a highly effective and environmental sensitive approach to pest
management. Their programs will take you through the life cycle of pests and the way they interact with people and the environment at large. Equipped with such information, the available methods of pest control are also involved. By using the most economical ways, you reduce the possible pollution of the environment.
Residents who diligently participate in the implementation of the IPM approach effectively control the bed bugs. The building management in the case of a multi-family housing should also participate. Non-chemical means can also be used to control the bedbugs but it is always difficult, more resource intensive and also less effective, a compressive IPM program can include various methods like; removing clutter where bed bugs hide, you can apply heat treatment, vacuuming, you can also use non-chemical pesticides, seal all the cracks and crevices and finally use effective chemical pesticides judiciously.

People who are at a higher risk to of being bitten are those who travel and share living with people who have previously suffered the bed bug infestation. If an IPM program is adopted and followed to the later then you can be assured of a complete eradication of the discomfort from bedbugs. So when the population is low then intervention is most effective.
